Jess with woolen hat

She’s closing in on the Cape, only 500nm to go and she’ll do that in two to three days, depending on the wind:

The good news is that I was able to fix the little problem with the mainsheet block easily. But the bad news is that despite spending yesterday morning trying to fix the heater, it still won’t play nice! Oh well, on the scale of things the heater not working really isn’t much of a problem, just one of those optional extras.  I’m really starting to get pretty excited about Cape Horn as we’re getting so close now, with just over 500nm to go!

That’s going to have to be it from me today as my fingers as are pretty keen to slip back into some nice warm gloves!

In a nutshell, her passage round Cape Horn can be like this:

Jess fog

… or like this:

rogue wave 2

… and hers is a little boat.

We just have to hope and pray that it is the former and that she’ll glide round with little trouble, which leaves the Cape of Good Hope as the next nasty one.

I wouldn’t be too keen on those high waves if I was in a small boat.
