The aristocracy of purpose

delenda_european_union_3The Albion Alliance has gone quiet for a number of reasons, not least because we are post-election and coming into the silly season for blogging.  Frankly, people do not wish to hear any more of this constant stream of political commentary for some time – they’ve had a gutful of it, including me.

However, the sleepless serpents are at it again:

At 11.30 a.m. on 18 June, President José Manuel Durao Barroso will deliver a speech at the Badia Fiesolana near Florence, entitled “European Union and Multilateral Global Governance”.  This is the Inaugural Lecture of the new Global Governance Programme at the European University Institute.

It’s both bewildering and dismaying that there is no outcry over the EU in the broader community – it’s not as if its dastardliness had not been established by countless pundits Europe-wide and especially within the UK.  I can’t believe someone coming along and saying, in response, that they just like the EU and global governance, that it’s a cool idea.  Socialism is a fine way to live – the recession, welfare and surveillance state are things to aspire to.

Just look at this little bit of doublespeak:

“The administration of justice must not be impeded by unjustifiable differences between the Member States’ judicial systems.”

You do know what that means, don’t you?  Corpus Juris.  You do know what Corpus Juris actually means?  If not, why not?  Are you remotely concerned with this?  If not, why not?  It’s going to mean that if you’re taken to court, for whatever reason, no longer will you have justice as we know it – not that we have now with the corruption of the judiciary, exonerating criminals and prosecuting the innocent.

People, we are turning a blind eye and wilfully refusing to see.  How the hell then can we stem this tide of EU sludge miring our life in this nation?  Finally, you might look at a statement recently made by Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker, speaking about the Growth and Stability Pact, stated

“We have replaced government with rules”

“When you don’t respect the rules that replace government, because there isn’t one, clearly we need to reinforce those rules.”

Were you aware that this was being openly stated within the EU?  Does it concern you at all?  Aren’t you the teensiest bit alarmed?

Enjoy the game tonight.  Oh and sorry to bother you with this.

James are you against the capture of the terrorists behind 23.7 by the Italians, done without a warrant hours after the incident because of the corpus iuris? Are you against the use of the corpus iuris to share results across police forces of raids on paedophiles trying to harm children and prosecute them? Are you against the use of the corpus iuris to track down people who have committed murders in other countries and then gone home to their own?

I know that Europe has many flaws but cooperating across boundaries on policing and law enforcement, making extradition easy, is definitely not one of them.

Friend, as you know very well, that is the oldest trap in the book.

One presents an outcome which is obviously desirable to all people and then, by agreeing with that outcome, the slide is made – that if one agrees with that, then one must also agree with the policy which produced it.

Except that the Lie is in the contention that it was the policy which produced it.

In a similar way, in Orwell’s 1984, citizens were protected from harm. You’ve heard the old adage, no doubt: “It protected me as a cell protects you from the rain.”

To enable extradition of criminals and indeed their prosecution only requires cooperation, not the setting up of a police surveillance state – the two are not logically connected in any way. The latter produces criminals by criminalizing people, not by catching a few terrorists.
