100 comments and other matters

Well, Patrick snuck up on us there and has broken the ton and thanks a bunch for the words of wisdom.  Not much is known of the chap, a fitting image for a contributor to nourishing obscurity but a little bird tells me he might well have a Eureka moment as some stage and then we’ll know what he chooses to reveal.

Sorry not to be able to reply during the day or put this badge up earlier but I was at work and as we had a bumper day [smashing weather], I’m moving like a zombie at this point [or perhaps that was the vodka].

Two new commenters called Max and Monty Cristo put comments today and I can’t publish them.  The reason is complex and comes down to the process of judging new comments on moderation.

For a start, if there’s no url to a recognized blog, then it has to be judged by email and by other factors.

It might seem unfair to genuine people but there are quite a few who come to this site who do not wish it well and usually it’s easy to sort them out from the genuine commenters.  Sometimes though, it’s too line ball and I have to err on the side of caution, I’m afraid.  I’m well aware that that will p*** off these people who’ll see me as some sort of jumped-up little whatever but sorry – I can’t put the blog to that risk.

Visiting tomorrow morning, zzzzzzz now, guys.
