Wonderful series, JD – just reading about it again now – and more than apt here. Of course the Germans lost, didn’t they?

If you date The German War from 1914 to ca 1990, then it’s hard to be sure that they lost, given their present state. We certainly lost. The Russians lost. The French, I’d say, lost.

Of course, the Germans could have reached their present state in a much less costly fashion had they not been led by chumps and madmen.

The Germans ‘won’ because they spent a lot less on defence since 1945. About 1.5%.

    UK averaged 3.5%.

The Germans put the difference into industry.

Whilst at the same time building up their armed forces to be, once again, the biggest in Europe. In the 30s they hid re-armament behind “industry”, we may, once again, be fooled by them.
