The Dr. Fell Awards

It began with the intensely annoying Anne Hathaway, the “lady” with the original name and I was thinking:

“I don’t even know why. I can’t think of a single thing she’s done to bother me.”

Sure enough, I read those exact words in an article … and then another along the same lines … and then another and another and so on.

I now realize why I don’t like her – the way she makes caustic jokes about others, especially Katie Holmes and in a very personal way, feeling she’s the wittiest person for decades.  She might study Tina Fey who actually is a wit and funny to boot.

Then there is her non-performance at the Oscars, thinking that she was actually an Oscar winner and as for that loud oral sphincter …!

So, it seemed time to give The Dr. Fell Awards for the most annoying entertainers, when we aren’t completely sure why they deserve such non-approbation.  My ten nominations don’t include the likes of Perry, Kardashian, Cole, Bleakely etc. because I don’t know much about them but your list might include them. [Good thing the list doesn’t include bloggers, eh?]

I couldn’t put in Elton John or Jane Fonda, for example because they’re actually destructive to society, whereas those on the list are just annoying tits.

Here are mine [in no particular order]:

1.  Anne Hathaway
2.  Andy McDowell
3.  Madonna
4.  Paris Hilton
5.  Angelina Jolie
6.  Lindsay Lohan
7.  Jonathan Ross
8.  Carla Bruni [singer/guitarist]
9.  Posh’nbex
10. The England Football Team and Manager

…………………….

Either leave your list in comments or email me at nourishingobscurity@gmail.com with your ten. Results published Saturday evening at 19:00.

…………………….

Methinks it would be good to extend this, one day, to 100 and so I’m working on that, when time permits plus the opposite list – 100 people we’re not sure we why we like them but we like them.  These two lists won’t just be for entertainers but for anyone who is or was in the public eye and could be quite revealing.

So get your thinking caps on, guys and gals.

7.5/10 are women, it seems, I thought blokes were more annoying in general. Or does professionally winsome get under your skin?

Hannibal Lecter used the alias “Dr. Fell” whilst in Florence. Perhaps he could mete out some appropriate punishment?

And for one I like, without really knowing why, not the most beautiful film star, not the one who has appeared in the best films, but one who *always* captivates, whom the camera loves, in any situation:

    Sandra Bullock.

And one I like without knowing exactly why – not yer average beefcake or pretty-boy, usually chosen to play weirdos of one sort or another (just read he’s playing King John)

Paul Giamatti (he often reminds me of Eric Morecambe -maybe that’s why I like him – or maybe it’s just because he’s a brilliant actor).

I think Ms H started believing the praise that has been heaped upon her this last year.

    The ego has landed.
