Cook in your coffee pot

These are just two of the foods you can cook without the use of pots and pans:

1. Oatmeal

Put two packets of instant oatmeal into the carafe. Add an individual packet of honey, an individual packet of fruit jam, and a pinch of salt. Put an herbal tea bag (e.g. orange flavored) into the filter basket. Pour 8-10 ounces of water into the coffee maker, turn on the machine, and the oatmeal will be ready in about 5 minutes.

2. Broccoli

Fill a coffee filter with six broccoli florets. Load into the coffee maker. Run six cups of water through for tender but still crisp veggies.

A coffee POT is not a pot? It’s a glass pot on a hotplate.

And how it is cheaper to cook this way I don’t know. What a waste of water. I steam my broccoli and only use about 1/4pt of water and a bit of gas which is cheaper than leccy. Fish or veg steamed in the microwave uses even less water and less time so less leccy. And a microwave probably costs less than a coffee machine.

Still I suppose todays students have so much money to spend that cooking on a coffee machine is the way to go /sarc off.

They forgot cous-cous. I put it in a plastic storage container, pour in hot water, and put on the lid. A few minutes later you take off the lid, fluff it a bit, and it’s ready to serve.

    Great stuff for the time-challenged.
