Ah, Roswell again – it must be the summer silly season.

1.  Why not?  How can we definitively say not?
2.  Original press release
3.  Water appears to have been found elsewhere
4.  Witness testimony and on the spot, esp. Haut
5.  Why couldn’t they crash, just as any craft can?

1.  Start of Cold War, wanting to frighten the Russkies and Chinese
2.  This CIA man won’t say what it was but wants to sell his book
3.  Water has not been found elsewhere
4.  Friend once told me about UFOs being seen but this one was an MOD project
5.  Disc not the most effective shape for the craft

Not bothering with

1.  They couldn’t carry that much fuel
2.  Superior technologies don’t crash
3.  Any other “they wouldn’ts” or “they couldn’ts”
4.  It’s simply not possible
5.  It’s been debunked or it’s been proved

Personally, I’m in the “can’t know but looks pretty suspicious of the Air Force” camp.

    The question is…

If these things were really happening would the PTB publicise it?

If they didn’t there are several answers as to why they might not…

I am in the camp that thinks it was a crashed alien craft.

There was an earlier crash in Aurora, Texas in 1897 with the bemused locals providing a “christian burial” for the downed visitor.

I am not sure about other crash/visitation stories and remain skeptical. I not certain on whether there is anything to Dulce (1979) & Greada (1954 – I think) but at the very least they make interesting reading if you’re into this sort of thing.
