Tho how often are the “nags” really for a guys own good, like “Do you really need to order two burgers?” Or “Don’t wear your smart shoes/trousers/shirt for DIY/Gardening” or “Maybe make that drink your last one hun?”

And what about all the times a guy quietly gets his favorite meal, and that has to be organised in advance. Or gets out of washing up or something? All those show love.

If you don’t use your good clothes for gardening, you run out of gardening clothes.

Moggsy – now I’m certain you’re female and not a male crosswriting. That’s the standard female response: “How often are the “nags” really for a guys own good.”

I’m surprised you didn’t add: “There are just as many nags among men, mainly for sex.” 🙂 What we are doing on blogs is a form of nagging – at a government which isn’t interested, at PTB which have an agenda.

Moggsy, dearest one, if anyone, male or female, repeats the same thing over and over, then it loses its power. We try, at NO, to mix things up a bit, to not always be pushing the same message but it’s hard.

You may well be right about “own good” but there’s also that you took on a guy for what he was. Some things can certainly be changed, e.g. the way he is about the house. Fundamental things have never been changed by nagging.

It’s not even a rational response – more one of frustration when we don’t get our own way, trying to form the man into the female’s image of how she’d like him to be.

The most famous nag in history, Anne Boleyn – well we know how she ended up. Anyway, I believe women are nagging less these days and divorcing more.

The trouble has always been, has it not, that it comes down, in the end, to how tolerant we are of foibles and what those foibles actually are. Some things should never be tolerated and others are best just to let go.

    Mark – ne’er a truer word …

James – I’m glad you mentioned in your comment (as opposed to your post) that nagging/belaboring a point isn’t exclusive to females.

Because with that definition, repeating things over and over, “for one’s own good”, describes most political bloggers

    Just sayin’….:)

“I believe women are nagging less these days and divorcing more.”

Or have they learned to be more subtle and have started using a form of psy ops?

James, I am so reassured and a little insulted. What we say should be judged on merit.

    Twilight ^_^ ^_^

Mark ^_^ I do wonder if there is some ancient god or spirit gives guys powers over motor bike engines and stuff who demands the sacrifice of a good expensive shirt, trousers, or in extreme cases, a good carpet.

So James, to take the burger example? Because I am on good solid ground here ^_^. Did you know a Double Whopper with cheese has about a thousand calories in it. Fries is another 500. The average recommended daily calorie intake for guys is about 2550 unless you do heavy exercise. Do the maths.

A meal with a burger on the side even without “full fat” coke is a guys daily calories in one go, and you are going to starve for the rest of the day for sure – not. And saying well it is only every now and again so doesn’t count does not wash.

Take a guy for what he was? Yes. More trying to keep him that way maybe?

Of course the remarking on it is just purely from a shrewish desire to stop you enjoying yourself, and nothing to preferring a persons company to the insurance money.

Not disagreeing with the food thing at all, Moggsy – think that’s right too.
