How is it that the Americans got the colours wrong? All round the world, blue is conservative and red leftist. Look at the words “blue blood” and look at the colour of communism. Yet the Americans reverse that. [Scratches head].

Hard to know which topic to run with this morning. Let’s go with the Election and man, is it ever hotting up.

Now everyone knows that in the days of the Starr report, there was a lot of hard language and fetishism with Bill’s multiple sexual indiscretions – hundreds of pages worth. Gingrich is a lowlife and the whole Republican tactics on that occasion were so shoddy that sympathy swung Bill’s way.

Later, on Fox on Sunday, he had that notorious interview which was so blatantly biased and out to nail him that I ran it on this blog. I hold no candle for Clinton whatever and even less for his Phoenix-badged Wife-INO – the damage these two have wrought and are still doing so would fill a dozen posts and yet gutter tactics from either side really get up my nose.

Now it’s the other way and there’s something particularly nasty the way the left do it. I can’t quite put my finger on it but it’s the absence of any restraint or decency.   While the right have anger and say cutting things, the left almost always descends to vulgarity.

Sure, there was nothing decent in the way Donald Segretti ensured Nixon’s re-election with CREEP and I don’t wish to be a hypocrite on this but there’s an edge to the way the left operate, something in their rhetoric which ensures I would never, ever, in a million years, support their agenda or tactics.  Nor would I support the RINOs in any way or the real hate people such as around 1963 – Jack Ruby was one.

This article is on Mia Love and it’s the comments which are interesting.

Tuesday night after rising GOP star Mia Love brought down the house with her inspiring convention speech, the stomach-turning Left labeled the black conservative a “token” and an “Aunt Tom.”

Plus “dirty, worthless whore.” The page called her a “total sell-out to the Right Wing Hate machine and the greedy bigots who control the GOP.”

Then we get “racist”, “intolerant”, “sexist”, “bible-thumper”, “drooling redneck” and “gay bashing homophobe”.

Now the person who wrote that is not far askew on the controllers of the GOP and the Democrats – it’s Them of course.  However, that’s not the issue here.

So I’m having a dig here at both sides but am also asserting that the vulgarity and hypocrisy of the left takes the prize.   Those two things and the way the left will never acknowledge what they’ve wrought but will descend into buzzwords in lieu of argument make proper debate impossible and I suspect that that’s the idea.  When arguments are weak, use other tactics.

And they go straight for emotion every time, without thinking things through:

Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, which last I checked lived in the Middle East, were killed by Americans in an unjust, misguided, unpaid for war designed to prop up the military establishment in this country, which is really the holy grail for the right wing. As a result hundreds of thousands of young American men are alsomaimed or pyscologically scarred for life. Now go ahead and keep patting yourself on the back for your wonderful morals.

OK, look at the spelling in there.  The guy was so overwrought by it that typos abounded and he did the typical “left slide”.   In order to argue against a political viewpoint, he brought in a completely different issue – the war – and by opposing that – and I agree with him – he used an argument about that to counter something different – the right wing.

Now if he’d like to see how real conservatives think, he might check Ron Paul’s site.  Also, he conflates GOP and conservative.

A similar thing happened with the OWS.   Many of us opposed it because 1. it was funded by Soros, 2. it was obviously going to be and indeed was hijacked by the Marxists who saw bringing down the banksters as ushering in a new socialist utopia and that is something up with which most people will not put.

However, in came the left to this site and started to make out I was opposing people’s freedom and was condoing oppression.   Where do they get off on that?   There is a site, Orphans of Liberty, and it is all about freedom and opposing oppression.   This blog here is constantly on about opposing oppression.   So for someone to come in and accuse me of precisely what they are unwittingly condoning – and that is the key word: “unwittingly”, they in fact insult what this site has always been about.

This is the nub of it.   This is why I have little time for the left and its tactics.   If they played fair, then I’d say: “Well OK, our viewpoints differ,” but it’s the tactics which really sour it.

And while we’re at it, this from Chuckles:

Why do I have a strong feeling that a brief investigation would show the 2 evicted perps to be left wing DEM activists?

CNN had the story prominently on their website, it has disappeared, and it has all the hallmarks of lefty thinking:

James, all this ballyhoo is one of the main reasons I am against elected heads of state and a republican system of government.

It is no longer about anything meaningful, it is reduced to a good advertising campaign – the most money spent usually wins – and scoring points.

This is NOT the way a counter should be run. In fact you usually end up with some mediocre yes man at the top, one that the ad men have produced.

I can’t see that a blueprint can’t be devised which will take care of all this but the practical problem is that those in power would undermine and kill it off.

We had the colors correct until CNN inexplicably swappped them back in the ’90’s and it stuck from then on.

Symbols and colours are always stolen (and swapped) leading to confusion and misrepresentation.

For example the Labour Party stole this one…
