Either you are part of the solution, or you are part of the precipitate.

96mm in 2 days here in Yorkshire, 75mm/3″ day before yesterday and another inch yesterday. 30 miles of the A1 northbound shut for over 36 hours as it is essentially a canal at the moment.

The ground is super saturated with all the rain from the summer months so the run off is immediate as it has nowhere else to go. All reservoirs around here are full to the brim.

Why? Well the jet stream has moved south of the UK again. So we get the colder air coming down from the North where it mixes with the warmer air over Northern Europe and Precipitation Alley here it comes.
