That’s why I now use Adblock Plus. Got fed up of reading blogs and being bombarded with ads for everything from knickers to books that I’d looked at (or my Mum had as we share the computer) on Amazon and other retailers. ABP blocks the lot.

    That’s so, Mark.

That’s also so, Rossa but I do it for the colour and it looks nice at times over in that sidebar – plus some of the ads are inventive, though I’m getting sick of Mature Dating sites.

AdBlock used here too wonderful little program, but i also recently downloaded a nice little thing called *Ghostery* (usually get such things from CNET never have a problem), once up and running you can prevent trackers watching your browsing, its quite alarming how many are monitoring when you know.

at this moment 5 trackers were watching this page, they’re not now.

While we’re on the subject of freedom on the net, I have a standard set of addons that I use with firefox. Adblock + to see off the adds, no script to cut out the trackers and the odd iFrame nasty and prefbar to spoof the type of browser. There are several others but they only setup the way firefox looks and works.

Mature as in your age (like a good stilton or is that the age of your socks?) or how long the website has been around…….lol

You’ll have to pass on some of the links so I can have a look. New Year so new man required for 2013 πŸ˜‰

so it’s your fault, is it?

you get an Amazon ad because you were corrresponding with a lady somewhere about Amazon……………

and I am getting singles ads…… probably because I am linking to you!!

sorry Rossa, don’t think you would fancy any of the grotty laydeez shown on those ads

By the way, forgot to mention – it looks a quite cool idea, one of those ovens. Quite portable.

If you do get one of those ovens James, make sure to give us a review of it. Even though I’ve got my new fancy multifunction AEG (74 litre big girl’s toy!) I can still enjoy a bit of oven envy. Though I doubt it could cook 1.7kg beef in 20 mins like mine did on Tuesday!!

JD…..for all you know I’m a grotty laydee too πŸ˜‰

I am getting a lot of spam emails from Russian laydeez asking me to love them. So is my Mum……lol

SCPDC – that’s decided me now.

When I am on your page the adverts always are connected to your posts in someway.

At least 50% of the time that is the Mature Dating sites you dislike.

Now if that was happening to me I would take that as a challenge, to write my posts in such a way so that those adverts would disappear…

    A challenge I couldn’t resist πŸ˜‰

The adverts on my pages always connect with what I have been commenting and searching too, I often find them quite useful.

I could just turn of certain settings to stop it all happening but I do find the links rather interesting!!
