telling unpopular truths each day
I concur, Chuckles, and I have often succumbed to the siren smells and sights and sailed, untied to the mast, right into the taste. Perhaps too much.
Over the past year I have really struggled against my natural inclination to be a tastaholic. I refuse to call myself a glutton but do admit that my weight has sometimes evaded my control, particulrly in these latter years. Indeed, type 2 diabetes evidenced its inevitable onset and my girth suffered along with my legs, buckling under the strain of carrying so much excess.
But this year I have been quite controlled and my weight has dropped by 25 kilos, although I still have some way to go before arriving at a tolerable weight. So, Christmas will see me tasting much but still devouring less than in the past. Meanwhile I remain amongst ‘the best people’ even if only in my own estimation.
I am on target for achieving the ability to walk for six or seven hours around the Air Display fields at Avalon at the beginning of March without being totally exhausted and missing out on all the displays I want to visit. Two years ago I could only manage a small part.
Does that include Idi Amin and Jeffrey Dahmer?
