From Rossa.
Rossa asks if I can see it but as “it” is a vast term and I have not the mental equipment to discern such things, then I must confess to not seeing “it”. She mentions “Gomez’s Hamburger……..what fascinating names we give to interstellar cosmic things.”
Ah yes, we do and that raises certain questions, does it not? Perhaps that is what she’s referring to.
Whilst on all things cosmic, Sir Patrick Moore has just died, surely one of the great inspirational figures of the age, irreplaceable.
Er, is it the answer to the vexed question: “How long is a piece of string?”?
Ans: About the length of a Planck.
It’s just an exercise in perspective on how we relate in size to the Universe. We, as a race, are so full of our own self importance but in the scheme of things we are sooooo small.
As you scroll out Gomez’s Hamburger was a name I spotted further out in our galaxy.
The answer to “how long is a piece of string?” is, “from beginning to the end.”
RIP Sir Patrick Alfred Caldwell-Moore.
RIP indeed.
