This is becoming an avalanche – now Jim Hall

Jim Hall, has passed away at 83, probably the most lyrical and having the purest sound of jazz guitarists, his only interest when asked about what he played was “to make a beautiful sound”.

He started playing jazz after hearing Charlie Christian and said he was the person he always wanted to sound like, he was also influenced by Django Reinhardt, and probably best remembered for his work with Jimmy Giuffre at the start of his career and later with Bill Evans, a beautiful sound, gone.

I think even JD would appreciate this man and his guitar.
