Films to avoid: The Orville

When haiku sent this trailer, I thought at first it looked a bit like Galaxy Quest:

… but then I saw that the lead actor wrote it and that made me think more of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. So I looked up this Seth someone and got:

MacFarlane is a supporter of the Democratic Party. He has donated over US $200,000 to various Democratic congressional committees and to the 2008 presidential campaign of then-U.S. Senator Barack Obama.

… and:

MacFarlane is passionate about his support for gay rights. He said it is “infuriating and idiotic” that two gay partners “have to go through this fucking dog and pony act when they stop at a hotel and the guy behind the counter says, ‘You want one room or two?'”

Oh well, that’s that then.

I’m confused. I thought they were supposed to put the best bits in the trailer to entice you into the cinema.

Oh! Do you think they were the best bits? 🙁

I didn’t mind it that much to be honest but who’s to say what the series will be like? They don’t seem the greatest actors and actresses.

They don’t seem the greatest actors and actresses.

Is it just me or have acting standards declined disastrously since the 1960s?

The Orville Corporation disavows any connection to this media abomination.
