    We’re about to have some langoustine pate on toast, and then smoked duck salad. To finish: probably an apple from the garden.

    Pretty much what our mesolithic ancestors would have enjoyed, eh? Except the toast, obs.

    We have ditched grains. Can’t say I’m missing ’em either. We had a “crustless quiche” comprising eggs, mascarpone, butter, organic lardons, onion, courgette, spinach – devil’s weed but couldn’t taste it fortunately – yellow pepper, mozzarella and parmesan – might have missed something out (apart from the crust). Anyhoo, jolly nice it was too and very filling. Washed down with a drop of crisp white. Got a nice bit of wild salmon coming up tomorrow. 🙂

    PS missed out the pinch of cumin.

    Black Forest ham and provolone (twas all I could find) with brown mustard on toasted dark Jewish rye and some Grillo’s pickles.

    Baked fillets of Pollock on a bed of caramelised chopped red onion, dressed with a white wine, mushroom and dill sauce.
    That’s what Brexit’s all about.

    When cooking I have to cook 2 dinners.One vegan,one meateaters.
    Last night I made succulent liver with fried onions and mushrooms ,mashed potatoes and peas with gravy.It went down a treat.
    For myself, tabouleh,tossed salad and cowboy caviar.
    Believe it or not, I get dinner guests!

    Apols. The “langoustine pâté” turned out to be Scottish Langoustine Mousse. What a mistake! Also, not apple but some trifle found in the fridge. Not so mesolithic, eh?
