Wednesday

1. At a loss how to present this one, as I don’t want to just steal it from Futility Closet, and yet it is interesting:

2. Rhodesia:

Simply put, African countries could not handle the gift of independence. In addition, the very notion of races being different was deemed unacceptable in the West. A man labeled a racist could not count on a good public career, etc. Of course, this applied only to whites – tribal warfare and genocides in nascent African countries were politely ignored.

3. More insanity:

Penn State’s 98-Year-Old Outing Club Is No Longer Allowed to Go Outside

4. Lastly for now, genesis of the little crims:

4.”the boy doesn’t like hearing the word “no”.

Really? You think? The less amusing part of this will be the Mom suing Border Force AU /the Airline/the Hotel in Bali/Uncle Tom Cobbly and anyone else she can think of to shift the blame for her bad parenting onto.

No doubt ‘busy working netmums’ all over Oz are crowd funding her legal action.

    3. Government increasing government. Shocker.
    4. Make it up media in action.
“A 12-year-old Sydney boy stole his parents’ credit card,”

“but managed to book himself flights (researching an airline that allowed 12-year-olds to fly unaccompanied) and a hotel room, and to depart the country unimpeded.”

“They just asked for my student ID and passport to prove that I’m over 12”

    Tall tale territory here.

The tall tale is made worse by the Grungiad recycling old news. That story is at least ten years old but has this month’s date on it. A slow news day and the journos could not understand even the fake US stuff to put out.
