Those innocent days

They had something going back then. Then western society lost it.

There was a time when I was 15, she was 14 and it was the endless summer they make movies about, it was the real deal. Gone, never to be recaptured. No regrets, though I tried to reprise it in the mid 80s with WN2 and it just wasn’t the same. Actually, I’d got her slightly preggers, so we were doing the angst thingy along the shore, wading in the shallows, with her unable to do up her belt and very angry that she’d listened to me. No regrets, could happen to anyone.

No, you really don’t want me to do that, trust me.

I think though every one of us has that ‘summer of ’69’ memory…whatever year it was for each of us. In my parents’ case it was the summer of ’67 when he and she, both trainee teachers with supposedly high IQs, got a bit drunk at a fair and retiring for a loooong sloooo ‘nachmittagsfick’ (to quote ‘Das Boot’) thought ‘once without can’t hurt…’ . Teachers and alcohol; never a good combination.

I spent most of 1964 as a 3 year old. Not a clue what was going on, sorry.

You should check out the “Girls in the Garage” compilation albums on Youtube.
A lot of rough sound quality tracks, but quite a few gems too.
