Looking at the crash my first impression was that it was either a suicide or mechanical failure–a stuck throttle. That’s my second impression also. If not, this girl may have nine lives but those around here will not.

I would like to know what PC-addled maniac thought it safe to allow a 17 year old girl behind the wheel of a Formula 3 car in an actual race.

    Sheer criminal incompetence.

By crikey it flew fast !!

James, let us not quibble about the age and gender. She was obviously deemed competent enough by the owners of the car who put their money where their mouth is. Older men have spectacular crashes too, much to the great enjoyment of all who go there to see such accidents. Skills pushed to the limit have a habit of setting new limits, both up and down.

I hope the gal has not damaged her ability to have audacious kiddies.

Precisely – dangerously incompetent. The female simply can’t do these things, especially at that age. There’s a whole lot of river in Egypt and ostriches going on here through some sort of gallantry which is wrong in this case.

Shouldn’t have been allowed, no matter what gender. Looks like using kids as guinea pigs.

Yes and there it is – first ever woman. Now why would that be? And let’s see what happens later in her career, as mentioned above.
