The krazee keyboards of Perez Prado

I’m searching for a word here – is it ‘zany’, ‘syncopated’, ‘happy’, ‘quirky’? What’s the best way to describe this bizarre ‘music’?

Reminds me of Russia in some ways:

Was it when fun was still fun and not depraved?

Jelly Roll Morton said all jazz music should have a “Spanish tinge”.

And “jazzy” originally meant something like “peppy”.

So you could call this stuff jazz – except you can’t really, can you? The term has been booked for something else.
