911 and other matters

1. Yes:

2. Is there nothing these gals can’t achieve?

Her flagship crowdfunding business reported a loss of £1.4 million last year and slashed its staff from twelve to one, so she may be thinking it is a good time for a change of career from finance…

3. As any fule kno:

“This annual ±4 Wm–2 simulation uncertainty is ±114 × larger than the annual average ∼0.035 Wm–2 change in tropospheric thermal energy flux produced by increasing GHG forcing since 1979.”

That is – the annual uncertainty in 1 variable is 114X greater than ALL the claimed greenhouse gas warming since 1979…

4. The cobra effect:

5. Yes:

The Narrators would have preferred to keep the facts of the alleged Parkland shooter’s behavior under wraps, considering the obvious questions it raises concerning his inexplicable presence at the school.

6. Any publicity’s good publicity?

September 11th 2001 had a profound influence on the course of my life (I was due to start a job in NY that next spring), I didn’t realise it at the time but it saved me from making a series of big mistakes.

Life is full of puzzling twists and turns.

    Re: ‘The cobra effect’

My diminishing faith in (the sense of the common good of)
humankind fell sharply upon reading that episode.

If I was faced with such a ‘dilemma’, I would hope that,
even in my least public spirited frame of mind,
I would still kill the (now worthless) cobras
& then throw the remains into the street.
