The wicked plotteth against the just

It does seem to me that society has gone past the point of propriety in dealings with others. Certainly the first to break ranks and simply openly lie and act unethically are the pollies.

Three cases right before us are Bercow as speaker, maybe worst ever, then Priti Patel who, on Marr, reneged on her passionate promise on Brexit and has now gone Remain WA2, then Harris in the States, further down.

There was a tweet by someone, mentioning Psalm 37:7. Not knowing the OT very well, I looked it up:

7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

One word is ‘fret’ – interesting because I’ve been doing that this weekend and it’s still alive at this very moment [half an hour after midnight Monday morning.

But also interesting to me is that, waking from a snooze and checking email, I then went to Twitter and the item above and below were beside one another. Harris, one of the most unethical people in existence [posts passim], is playing the pristine judge:

I sat through those hearings. Brett Kavanaugh lied to the U.S. Senate and most importantly to the American people. He was put on the Court through a sham process and his place on the Court is an insult to the pursuit of truth and justice.

He must be impeached.

… when multiple witnesses withdrew their testimony upon being found out -Ford in particular – and yet here she is trying it on again, which resulted in a reply from one tweeter:

You laughed through those hearings. You laughed at the anguish of a man falsely accused and his brave wife, who stood by him.

Just like you laughed about your own pot use, while you put others behind bars.

You’re such a phony. You’re the joke, because you’re fooling nobody.

It appears her funders for the presidency are increasingly agreeing on the fooling no one bit:

So we seem to be in a time when biblical verses become quite relevant, including this one from Matt 24:24:

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

On that point, I looked at one of Harris’s arguments about Kavanaugh being involved in the waterboarding and the NYT are the ones who said yes. With the greatest respect, it was an allegation where they had someone, not unlike in the Ford case, willing to say so.

But I stopped and thought – what actual evidence beyond witness testimony is there? I mean, it’s hardly unbiased, is it?  There are deep waters here and also a clear case of stopping conservative judges by all means, even down to mooting reconstituting the Supreme Court by Democrat order.

This all seems to me to be entering panic mode and not even someone like Ginsburg is playing along.

What it does overall is to paralyse any way forward because doubts are cast insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Which is what this enormous pre-2020 push, and I don’t mean the Pres election but the things Svali was saying in 2000 about duplicity and the agenda – this is where we are.

And where does that leave us?

Again there’ll have to be a break Monday morning before first post.

This sudden rabid going after Kavanaugh – one wag observed, “Ruthy must be in a bad way.”

This has been popping into my head every time my thoughts turn to worldly events for the past month or so. It’s from my Sunday School days, both as a spotty herbert and later as a teacher. Can’t find the tune we used to sing it to, Scottish Psalter or something like that, so we can’t have a singalong.

1 For evil-doers fret thou not
    thyself unquietly;
Nor do thou envy bear to those
    that work iniquity.
2 For, even like unto the grass,
    soon be cut down shall they;
And, like the green and tender herb,
    they wither shall away.

Re the latest attack on Brett Kavanaugh. Check out Blatent-Fraud’s lawyer and Andy McCabe’s. No links to drop atm.

I saw an explanation the other day that in the early chapters of the OT references to The Lord are to El, and references to God are to Yaweh: that was the convention that the translators adopted.

Or maybe it was the other way round. Anyhoo, once those two top gods had been amalgamated into one unique God then presumably the Hebrew references to Him would change a bit.

They didn’t mention these considerations in Sunday School.
