10.  Virus [3]

Tried airplane mode, then switched hub off at the wall. No effect. When the laptop was used, same thing – Ivan says it is light. Wise Ole Techie once observed of me: ‘Man who likes conspiracy theories will always find the answer he seeks.’

Just entered day seven.

Seattle is a loony bin, a criminal one in West Seattle, and one of satan’s sanctuary cities by some accounts. A bit like Denver.

Now I warned the boys about too much smut and here it is again:

Just checked in case.  Well I never:

Cheer up; many senior Dems are disproportionately vulnerable to the Wuhan virus, on grounds of age and illness, plus lots of exposure to crowds and hand-shaking. Mind you so is Trumpy McTrumpface.

I wonder whether any part of the US is even slightly defensible by quarantine. Hawaii? Guam? American Samoa?

If the virus runs amok in Mexico will the impossible-to-close border get suddenly closed? Will this be a wonderful excuse to get the troops the hell out of Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and many other less than desirable bits of real estate?

May I just point out that German motor cars, and French wine and luxury goods, are particularly likely to spread infection and should accordingly be boycotted.

        Good one, DR.

The point of quarantine is probably mainly to slow the spread in hopes that summer weather will kill the virus, and to buy time for development work on vaccines and drugs. Those seem reasonable ambitions to me.
