    Why can’t you play Rockstar?

It is in the linked article about not being caught playing Nickelback.

The song played is by an early Indie band and refers to Nickelback’s label, Road Runner, but also introduces them for this coming Friday. It’s an ongoing music joke like Rickrolling.

I read the article but completely missed that point. I have an issue with the Nickelback track and was all ready to get outraged. That is, I love the band, but every time I hear it played on the car radio (its not played on the local radio stations any more, but I listen to Planet Rock), the word ‘drug’ is always gapped out, as if preventing utterance of the word will fix the world’s drug problems. It ruins my enjoyment of the track and really, really, pisses me off.

I don’t know who these DJ’s think they are, like when Relax was ‘banned’ in the 80’s. To their credit I suppose, it wasn’t the BBC that banned the track (well, not initially) but that virtue signalling little squirt Mike Read.

There’s an American band, Smile Empty Soul, and on one of their albums is a track called ‘Jesus Is The Manager at Walmart’. You can download the entire album, but that track will be missing, and if you search for a track list, that title does not appear.

Ripper, if you know me, you’ll know it’s down to run … but not today. Have it in mind for Saturday so do hold the outrage and ketchup till then, ha ha.

Cheers for the other info – shall explore.
