Jeff and Joel’s House Party

A different take on jazz, sent by Dearieme.  I’ve put it under his name as it’s his music, some of the text is mine [JH], unfortunately there is no provision on WP for joint posts:

15 Musicians mix and match in 15 hours of foot stompin’ spontaneous jazz at Jeff and Joel’s House Party held October 13th-15th 2017 in Branford, CT. For Tickets and information about the next party, visit

Five person rhythm section here:

For a change in pace, I’ve Got a Feeling I’m Falling is one of Fats’s finest – we ran it [as sung by Annette Hanshaw] some time back:

Let’s go out this evening with Sweet Georgia Brown and those two clarinets:

#1: I especially liked pseudo-Adrian Rollini on the bass sax. I admired pseudo-Bix’s Bixian ‘tache.

#3: I’ll swear that the vocal is a direct mimic of a Fats’ performance: inflection, call to the band, etc. And why not?

    Sunny days, sunny jazz.

Excellent although Sweet Georgia Brown was too zippy for my sluggish attention – I’ve Got a Feeling I’m Falling more my pace. Bix for me in no 1 but I enjoyed the earlier version too.
