Not autotuned

Some sort of quiz Saturday evening. Meanwhile, Chuckles sends this rarity:

… written by Bob Gaudio, ex Royal Teens saxophonist. Commenter wrote:

I cannot believe someone posted this. I cried until my dad took me downtown to watch them make this promo. My mom was working at Fitzgerald’s that day. It was on the corner of Virginia St. and 4th. I fell off the bed when I saw this just now. Thank you for putting up this video.

Now for two other songs. Hmmmmmmm:

… and one of the songs in here written by Buddy Holly, for whom he played bass:

Just in case you don’t know who the honey was, it was Jessi Colter, one of the outlaws.

The outlaws individualised – admittedly Buddy Holly did not – and I vastly prefer that to blended music, overproduced. It’s not unlike a blended whisky – it might be smooth but where’s the character, as in a single malt?

Do you know the Steeleye Span a capella version of Rave On – with Martin Carthy singing lead? This is Steeleye Mark II – Prior, Carthy, Hutchings, Hart and Knight.
