Verdant Israel

The 08:00 and 13:00 slots have turned into places for strange and interesting topics. Quite nice, that.

With this one, I saw the title Northern Israel and thought it might be interesting to explore, especially as there’s so much anger associated with the name.

What we end up seeing is something far less burnt out and rocky, more lush green in fact. This is not as I portrayed the Jezreel Valley in my book, also the area around Gallilee. Also, Life of Brian was all burnt out hues, desert as well.

I’ve not been to the Golan Heights, to Israel at all, to Har Megiddo. Not yet anyway. I’ve been to Egypt’s north, Cyprus, also Sicily’s bare rock.

Have you been to Israel?

I was in Israel a long time ago, as part of a school cruise itinerary. Don’t remember much about it, to be honest, though I remember the girlfriend I met on the cruise 🙂

The greenery in Med lands tends to be seasonal.

A bit like middle of Oz – breaks out in bloom briefly.

Likewise, the images of wild flowers in the Californian hills after spring rain are stunning.

Yep, meanwhile, we have perma-green here.
