Third weekend

10. Something clean and nice to take our minds off the grotty, yukky, insane things out there polluting society:

https://dailytimewaster.blogspot.com/2019/10/friday-open-road_18.html

All about trust:

9. You’re not allowed to criticise women and it’s the same consequences for them as it is for a police state or anyone in power at all – if you are not permitted to criticise, on pain of dire consequences, then you create a monster.

Yes, I did just say that. If you cannot criticise a woman, she becomes a monster. If you spoil a child rotten, then he becomes rotten, a little brat, a little monster.

And here’s another one while we’re there:

8. I’m glad this is coming out now:

https://voxday.blogspot.com/2019/10/spying-on-us-conservatives-in-ukraine.html

… because there was a great deal of scepticism when we ran the posts on Maidan and the Trades Hall burning of everyone inside and who was responsible. It was pointed out by my Russian friend that they even had shots of Right Sektor on the roof just before, though there were also debunked shots later, photoshopped.

But the motif was as savage, as bestial as ever – these were not humans doing this, they’d relinquished that epithet.

7. Notice any pattern here with tech, incompetence and police state?

Samsung: Anyone’s thumbprint can unlock Galaxy S10 phone.

6. Protection or free trade? Again to the rescue, Chuckles sends this:

https://freenorthcarolina.blogspot.com/2019/10/stranger-in-strange-land-excellent.html

I recently relocated–with any luck, temporarily–to a sprawling metroplex of a city of almost seven million, within an even more massive state.

I’d believed I understood globalism and loss of identity. I thought I had made an uneasy peace with the reality of modernism and destruction of memory. I had no idea. Not only is there no regional culture here—one of common language, mores and manners–there is not even an American one.

Stores, restaurants, and other establishments ring loudly with the sound of Spanish. New to the city, I ask questions, and rarely chance upon a fluent English speaker. Even in the upper-income neighborhood in which I’m staying, it is rare to see an American flag.

I was speaking with my friend about this and there were things about people in California selling up and moving to the south where their million dollar mansion funds buy a virtual palace, palaces are slowly taking over rather than Mexicans and then it got onto produce.

Local produce you might think would undercut imports but the opposite is the case and that’s similar here – it’s global.  Here, if you want local jams or cheese or whatever, you go to a garden centre or some other boutique place and pay through the nose, maybe even £6 for a jar.

But foreign produce is subsidised to the hilt and so that’s what people buy.

The bit which got me was that they’re perfectly capable of farming down south but it’s the flood from Canada where they have huge numbers of acres under cover, growing produce specific to the supermarts and the rest go to the wall.

Walmart are known for that way of coming into a new town – on the net it would be Amazon.  So is that just market forces at work or should there be some sort of protection?

When you get onto Fair Trade, then it’s political interference.

5. This clown has been rightly vilified but she’s not the only one of course:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7586499/Police-chief-posted-Pronouns-Day-video-slammed-wasting-time.html

It’s patently obvious that the obedient meathead woman is the automaton of choice these days in positions of secondary power, while our ‘refugees welcome’ friends are the beasts on the streets, not unlike the Janjaweed in Darfur.

4. This one I’m not going to show footage, it’s an issue needing sorting out immediately and with maximum prejudice against the miscreants – and jail is NOT the answer.  There are only two answers – execute and deport with the proviso that if seen the crims will be shot on sight.

Trouble is, that feeds the two aspects of the current push:

a.  Police Nanny State;
b. Civil War.

3. Tulsi Gabbard@TulsiGabbard tweeted last evening, after being called a Russian plant by Clinton:

Great! Thank you @HillaryClinton

You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain. From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a …

… concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know — it was always you, through your proxies and …

.. powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine, afraid of the threat I pose.

It’s now clear that this primary is between you and me. Don’t cowardly hide behind your proxies. Join the race directly.

Just a word for Tulsi – ‘cowardly’ is an adjective there, not an adverb.  To make it an adverb, write ‘in a cowardly manner’ or similar. Sorry to be pedantic but that’s just the kinda guy I am.

Our secret correspondent from over there writes:

Anyway maybe Gabbard will keep from having a suspicious accident because she has come out in the open early about the Jezebel, Hellery. All of the things going on are like a really crummy, perverted, scary horror flick in which we play a part.

Ain’t that the truth.

2. Thought this quite amusing – Nigel on Boris Brexit deal fan Guido:

Not so amusing is the tech problem I have in getting a series of tweets to you from this guy:

# Thread about the recent farmer protests in the NL

>Parliament flooded with tractors
>Doors rammed
>Army deployed
>Angry politicians

This has had little to no traction outside the Dutch sphere, so Ive decided to make an English thread detailing the events on the 3 major protests

# While the protests themselves were quite meaningless in their origin, nitrogen pollution laws, the catalyst here is the big divide between the more urban and more rural parts of the Netherlands.

They are two completely different ways of life, it seems.

# Once again the farmers rammed on the Malieveld. It was clear that the people were behind them except left wing urbanites. No real change was made that day, but a lot of sympathy was shown and gained.

# The message this day was the same. Repeal the strict laws against farmers, and respect the farmer. A very apolitical message it would seem.

Still, the divide was clear. Left wing politicians like Green Party leader Jesse Klaver were not liked.

Still not sure what it’s all about but Chuckles to the rescue:

Furious Farmers Defy Army Roadblocks in Dutch Anti-Green Protest

OK, that’s understandable – backlash against green socialists, eco-warriors etc.

Probably with the farmers here.

1. The new format gets one more weekend, in the same way the yellow vests did.

You know the saying about the tail wagging the dog? Well, there you go.

Well now, the dog, or chicken, in the C-f-A case, says, ‘You ain’t even my tail! How come you always tryin’ to wag me? How come you always wagging other dogs and chickens and critters, you silly ole mangy tail?

Ohhhhh, you want me to like you? Bow down to you? Agree with you? Accept you and all you espouse? Be that your idea? Be that enough? What then? We be as miserable as you? Be that what you aimin’ for Mangy Waggy Tail?

Hmmmmm, coercing someone to like, accept, bow down to your ole tail is a pretty ineffective way to keep a mangy tail attached to a plain ole chicken.

What KIND of tail be you anyway, Mangy Tail? Chickens and mangy tails just don’t go together – artificial. Rot sets in, don’t you know about rot, Mangy Tail? Ohhhhh, I see….you do know.’

    There you go.
